This little gem of an island in Thailand isn’t just a paradise for vacationers—it’s quickly becoming a hotspot for remote workers. I’ll walk you through the best areas to stay, my favorite coworking spaces around the island, and how to still have fun while you’re getting your work done. Where to Stay in Koh Phangan?

Koh Phangan has several different areas, each catering to different lifestyles around the island.

Srithanu

Srithanu is a yogi’s haven. It’s known for its yoga retreats, vegan cafes, and overall spiritual vibes. It’s perfect for digital nomads that want to live a more holistic and mindful lifestyle. 

Thong Sala

Thong Sala is the island’s main town area. It’s the perfect part of the island if you’re looking for convenience. Based near the Thong Sala Pier, restaurants, and loads of coworking spaces. You’ll find a lively market and plenty of accommodation options in the area. 

Haad Rin

Haad Rin is a busier part of the island and has a vibrant nightlife. The area is famous for the Full Moon parties that happen at the Haad Rin Beach. It’s a great area if you want to be social and are into going out.

Coworking Spots in Koh Phangan

Good internet is essential for any digital nomad, and Koh Phangan has it covered. With the growing digital nomad community, there are several coworking spaces catering specifically to remote workers.

Tiki Beach Resort

My favorite place to work in Koh Phangan is Tiki Beach. Located right on the beach, they offer a laid-back atmosphere that blends work and play perfectly. The friendly vibe here makes it easy to strike up conversations and connect with other nomads. Plus, Tiki Beach hosts a Digital Nomad Meetup every Thursday evening! 

La Casa

La Casa is a great choice for remote workers. The relaxed and inviting atmosphere, combined with fast Wi-Fi and stunning ocean views make it a favorite among digital nomads who like to work in an informal yet inspiring environment. It’s a great place to blend work with the island’s laid-back vibe.

Sunset Hill

For those who are looking for a scenic spot to focus, Sunset Hill is a must. This coworking space is perched on a cliff and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the island and the ocean. 

Exploring Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan Beaches

Koh Phangan has some of the best beaches in Thailand. Perfect for sunbathing and swimming, some of my favorites are Malibu Beach and Bottle Beach. My favorite beach to watch the sunset in Koh Phangan is Zen Beach and I love snorkeling at Haad Khom Beach!

Koh Phangan Waterfalls

The island is home to some stunning waterfalls, perfect to explore on your day off. Than Sadet Waterfalls is the perfect spot for a swim surrounded by lush jungle. Within Phaeng National Park, the Phaeng Waterfall is the largest and most powerful waterfall in Koh Phangan. For a quieter experience, Wang Sai Waterfall is the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway. 

Yoga and Wellness in Koh Phangan

The island is full of yoga and wellness lovers. The most popular area for this is Srithanu. Srithanu has plenty of yoga schools and wellness centers offering classes and retreats. It’s a great way to unwind and meet like-minded people.

Digital Nomads in Koh Phangan

Regular meetups, workshops, and networking events are organized at coworking spaces in Koh Phangan, so it’s easy to connect with fellow nomads. You’ll also encounter a strong focus on personal development and wellness, with many nomads balancing work with yoga, meditation, and other holistic practices.

Tips for Digital Nomads in Koh Phangan

  • Stay connected: A local SIM card with data is a must. AIS and TrueMove are reliable providers, and you can easily top up your data at convenience stores.

  • Rent a motorbike: It’s the easiest and most cost-effective way to explore the island. Just be cautious, as some roads can be steep and challenging.

  • Plan around the weather: Koh Phangan has a tropical climate, so expect rain during the rainy season from October to December. The best time to visit is from January to September.
